State Pool Teacher Agreement Format
On May 26, 2020, the National Cabinet decided to offer additional services to 29,701 auxiliary teachers who worked as contract teachers in lower primary/upper primary schools and 11,206 auxiliary teachers who worked as pool teachers in primary/lower secondary schools under the SSA (Sarba Siksha Abhiyan). The cabinet`s decision stated that teachers could continue their service until age 60 without pension benefits. The recent order of the mission ordered the teachers to sign the agreement on or before October 20, failing which their “salary matter must be dealt with after the signing of the said agreement.” This clearly shows that teachers do not receive their salaries if they do not sign the agreement. Following the cabinet decision, the Ministry of Primary Education issued a communication on 1 July 2020. In August, the SSA then ordered the professors of contracts and state pools to sign a new agreement. But the teachers refuse to sign the new agreement, as it will disrupt the continuation of their service time and hinder the regularization of their employment.
